13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? 14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. 15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: 16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elishac the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. 17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. 18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. (1 Kings 19:13-18)
Elijah made a mistake. He assumed that things were moving toward chaos and he was the only one left who knew good and who knew God.
Sometimes when I am focusing on the Ahabs in the world I forget that God is still in control.
Watching TV News will get you down.
Watching TV sitcoms will show you evil.
Watching the drudgereport.com, CNN.com, foxnews.com, Al Jazeerra.net etc. will crush your hope.
But, I have noticed since launching this blog on Monday, that many, many people are not in the news, who are serving God, and are loving their fellow man just as Jesus instructed and did himself.
I have found so many links to good and to God, just by noticing the connections to my profiles’ “Favorites”.
I push the “Next” button on my navbar and up pops a servant of God in Hawaii who has noticed the same thing. You too can see in the link above.
God is bigger than Ahab and Ahab’s priests of darkness.
I am not the only one left.
God has servants all over the Kingdom who have not bowed their knees to baal.
15 When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere.“Ah, my lord, what will we do now?” he cried out to Elisha.16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened his servant’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. (2 Kings 6:15-17)
Thank you Lord for opening my eyes, so that I may see.
In Jesus blessed name, Amen.
